Chevron Products Company Page 2
Former Chevron Service Station #9-5775,301 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California August 15, 2001
• system has treated a total of 2,822,331 gallons. Calculated discharge rates during the July
monitoring period ranged from 6.28 to 6.70 gallons per minute (gpm).
During the July monitoring period the system extracted approximately 0.24 pounds of TPHg,
0.002 pounds of benzene, and 1.99 pounds of MtBE. To date, the system has extracted
approximately 6.96 pounds of TPHg, 0.149 pounds of benzene, and 78.86 pounds of MtBE.
Plots of GWE system mass removal trends and influent groundwater TPHg, benzene, and
MtBE concentrations versus time are shown on Figures 4 and 5, respectively. Certified
analytical reports and chain -of -custody documentation and remedial system operation and
maintenance field data sheets are included in Attachments A and B, respectively.
DISCHARGE OF ETHANOL AND METHANOL
As discussed with Mike Schafer with the City of Lodi during April 2001, discharges of
methanol and ethanol to the industrial sewer system at concentrations similar to those found
in the remediation system's effluent stream do not constitute a significant threat to the local
treatment system. In accordance with this conversation, discharges of low concentrations of
methanol and ethanol are not considered violations of the discharge limitations. The
presence of ethanol and methanol is thought to be attributed to the decay of plant material,
and is believed to be unrelated to the former Chevron service station.
0 SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS
On July 11, 2001, USFilter/Westates performed a carbon change -out of carbon vessel A.
SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS
There have been no violations of the discharge limitations during the July discharge period.
lAChevron19577510&M\Discharge Reports\]uly-200IVuiy Discharge Report.doc
