Cutting operations for fiberglass pipe can generate dust or <br />cutting chips that are irritating to the skin, upper respiratory <br />tract, and eyes. Because these materials are irritating, proper <br />ventilation for the installation crew should be used to prevent <br />exposure. <br />A nuisance dust breathing filter should be used when working <br />in areas where dust will be present. Operators should wear <br />heavy cotton clothing, including long -sleeve shirts that protect <br />the skin from dust. Eye protection is required when operating <br />tools. <br />Tapering <br />Retract the protective mesh covering the 2" (50 mm) Red <br />Thread IIA pipe approximately 12" (300 mm) from the end be- <br />fore tapering.
