2.2 Location and Depth
Drilling will take place at a time agreed upon by TVG and CFM but not later
than 30 days after approval of San Joaquin County, near the previous position
of the gasoline tank on the site. The soil boring will be drilled to the
appropriate depth using a hand auger. Since new, clean backfill was used to
fill in the excavation, we propose to sample just below the new backfill. We
. estimate the depth to be at 17 feet. If field monitoring indicates the presence
of hydrocarbons at 17 feet, then an additional sample will be taken at 20 feet.
See Figure'2 for location of soil borings. ik
2.3 Soil Sampling
The samples will be taken at the appropriate depths using a brass tube that
will be sealed and logged under chain of custod':
li
2.4 Monitoring Wells I
At this time, no provision for monitoring wells is being planned. The
previous monitoring well located at the site indicated that no groundwater
contamination had occurred. Since the time of the original investigation, the
site has been sealed with an impervious layer,of asphalt that should have
prevented leaching of any potential contaminants.
2.5 Boring Logs
Detailed logs will be made of each boring. The information gathered will
include: sample depths, horizons of detectable Icontamination, if any, (using
field monitoring techniques), soil classification laccording to the Unified Soils
,
Classification System. 'i
2.6 Disposition of Soil Boring Cutting
i
Soil cuttings will be stock piled until the results of the analysis are obtained.
Disposition will be made then.
t,
Work Plan Page 2
Custom Food Machinery
:f
July 1, 1992 ;,
