4
{
j General biological treatment procedure:
ill !I
1. Drill through the concrete cap above the tank site.;
2. Introduce the treatment mixture into the pea gravel mass.
3. Introduce bioventing if warranted.
4. Allow a minimum of 30 days for biological'action.;
5. Evaluate the treatment progress.
6. Re-sample and retest within the contamination zone at a point where the highest
levels of contaminants have been observed.
7. If results exceed action levels, evaluate additional treatment or extending treatment
time an additional 30 days.
8. If results are below action levels,perform additional verification sampling.
9. When sampling indicates the contamination zone is below action levels request
closure.
4.0 Quality Assurance
4.1 Equipment
Sampling would be accomplished with an AMS Soil Gas Vapor Probe,equipped with an optional soil
t recovery probe. The soil probe is fitted with a removable plastic liner. Borings will be destroyed
after sampling. Dry cement grout will be placed into the borings and hydrated in place.
j.
4.2 Sample Handling
ii
r
Samples will be collected in the removable butyrateI. Sample tube caps will be new
polyethylene. The soil recovery probe will be washed between samples. Parts which will contact the
sample will be handled with disposable gloves. it
4.4 Chain Of Custody
I
I.
All samples will be recorded on chain of custody. All companies and persons who receive or have
control of the samples will be listed on the chain of custody. 1AII is and dates where the samples
are collected transferred or stored will be recorded on the chain of custody.
Page 5
