Soil samples from underneath the USTs and the dispenser piping indicated that some leaks had
occurred during the life of the gasoline sales operation. Foothill Engineering did a site investigation to
determine the vertical and horizontal extent of the gasoline contamination on 8/13/1998 and 812111998.
Geomatrix installed the monitoring well GMX-1 at a location+/-25 feet south of the UST excavation and
sampled first groundwater. That analysis is attached. Geomatrix also made three soil borings (GB#1,
GB#2, and GB#3) with both soil samples and groundwater samples extracted (see attached map for
location). All samples on GB#1, GB#2, and GB#3 were non-detect for all compounds analyzed.
The work plan of 5/24/99 called for the installation of three soil borings to be located on the Sun West
Liquor property and the possible installation of fourth soil boring on the south side of Kettleman Lane.
Soil samples were to be extracted at predetermined depths for laboratory analysis. A monitoring well
to sample ground water was to be constructed in each of the soil borings.
Groundwater sampling quarterly events have occurred from 7/12/99 to 02/26102. Laboratory data for all
groundwater sampling analysis for each event is enclosed in a recap format(see attached recap). A copy
of the complete Laboratory Certificate of Analysis is enclosed for only this sampling event.
On January 28, 2002, ACT Inc. performed a pump test on a 15" extraction well with a 6 PVC casing.
The report for this pump test has been supplied as part of a Final Remedial Plan.
1
