Gregg Drilling installed CPT#1 to a depth of 90 feet with soil and groundwater sampling to a depth of
. 78 feet on March 3,2003.Three samples of soil and three samples of the groundwater were extracted and
analyzed. All CPT soil and groundwater samples were analyzed as non-detect.
On April 16,2004 pump and treat remediation began with pumping the extraction well, pumping the water
through an activated carbon filter, filling the tank, sample and testing the cleaned water, and trucking the
water to the industrial sewer. Quality control samples were taken and analyzed weekly.
EXISTING 8"EXTRACTION WMC
ELgLfpG CONDUIT q/IpLE pp ry
EXISTING
POINTOR UNTREAT&GROUNDWATE9 BAKER Al
EXISTING 'X 20 BELOW GROUND CONC.VAULT
.25"DISCHARGE LINE TO BAKER TA
C T IST G C ROAD
BAKER TANK 21,060
CARBON CANISTER
E PUMP VOL.=+1-12 GPM MAX
L AT-W.T.9-45'
GENERAL SCHEMATIC SKETCH OF PUMP&TREAT SYSTEM
FOOTHILL ENGINEERING LODI.CA
Over the Memorial Day weekend the pump and treat system was turned off to allow the ground water to
. recharge and to recollect any contaminants that might of stuck to the soil particles during draw down.
The pump and treat system resumed on Monday afternoon 5/31/04. The pump and treat system was
turned off for final closure on June 16, 2004 and final samples of the monitoring wells were taken June
17, 2004. The well pump and tank and filters were removed on Tuesday, June 22, 2004.
Quarterly monitoring has resumed with the Third Quarter of 2004,September 17,2004. The first Quarter
of 2005 was not sampled as we were waiting for a determination of acceptance. The determination was
made to sample again with the higher groundwater table of this spring, spring of 2005.
FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THIS EVENT
Sampling Procedure
On May 31, 2005, Del-Tech Geotechnical Services, under the supervision of Foothill Engineering
performed the second quarter groundwater monitoring event for 2005. Marcel Delacruz of Caltrans was
notified of the monitoring event , as required by Caltrans Permit No.1002-6NV-0218. All wells had
enough water to purge and sample. MW-4 was pumped dry then allowed to recharge for sampling. All
wells were purged at a rate of .5 gpm. Samples were transported on ice for delivery under chain of
custody to GeoAnalytical Laboratories for analysis.
Sample Analysis
Water samples were analyzed by EPA methods 8015M for TPHg and 8260B for BTEX and Oxygenates.
Results of all sample analyses are attached in the original laboratory form and also in recap form (See
• Water Sample Analysis Recap attached). Monitoring wells that did not receive a full purge are marked
with an asterisk (*}.
2
