4kU0HUM
INV IRON MENTAI (ONSUITANTS IN(
1
REPORT ON SUBSURFACE ENVIRONMENTAL
EXPLORATION (SOIL BORINGS)
A & M MARKET
4579 EAST ACAMPO ROAD
ACAMPO, CALIFORNIA
FOR
SAV-MOR OIL COMPANY
1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Quorum Environmental Consultants, Inc , (Quorum) is submitting this Report on the
completed soil boring program at the A & M Market, 4579 East Acampo Road, Acampo,
California, in response to the request from Sav-Mor Oil Co., the owner of the former tanks
at the subject, former gasoline service station The property owner is Mr Mohammed
Mozeb
With the authorization of Sav-Mor Oil Co , five soil borings were advanced to study the
' gasoline hydrocarbons thought to be present in soil west of the location of a tank cavity
that formerly housed underground storage tanks. Three underground storage tanks were
removed from the subsurface in June 1992, and a further phase of excavation, as well as
aerating and sampling stockpiled soil, have been conducted over the former gasoline
station site.
Results of the present study indicate that hydrocarbons were not detected (within
laboratory detection limits) In samples that were collected from the borings The borings,
therefore, have effectively delineated the lateral extent of hydrocarbons that originated
from the tank pit. Hydrocarbons are known to be present in the soil in the base of the
west side of the tank cavity, and review of the information obtained from this study and
the previous excavations indicates that hydrocarbons extending from the existing cavity
base at about 15 feet deep may be limited to a depth of 25 to 30 feet
3050 FIT[0R((( • S011( 104 • SACRAMENTO (A 95B21 • TEL 916 363 1900 - FAX 916 343 4912
