j <br /> I <br /> Statewide Excavation TL 392-0001-15 <br /> June 24 , 1992 Page 3 i <br /> Snavely, a groundwater sample was collected. This sample was <br /> collected by lowering a precleaned, Teflon® bailer into the <br /> excavation, allowing it to fill with water and then transferring <br /> the water to a 1 liter amber glass jar. The groundwater sample was <br /> labeled and handled in the same manner as the soil samples. <br /> In addition to the samples collected from t <br />�. p he excavation, <br /> three composite samples were collected from the stockpiled soils at <br /> 'i <br /> the. site. These composite samples comprised four subsamples <br /> collected at random from at least 6 inches below the surface of the <br /> stockpiles. <br /> The samples were delivered to Twining' s facility in Fresno, <br /> •, <br /> California on June 9 , 1992 . Chain-of-custody documentation, <br /> analytical laboratory reports, and a site plan showing the soil <br /> I <br /> sample locations are attached. <br /> 4 <br /> TESTING PROCEDURES <br /> The soil samples collected from the excavation were analyzed <br /> for total petroleum hydrocarbons-diesel using the gas <br /> chromatography/flame ionization detection method and for benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes using U. S. EPA method <br /> 5030/8020. <br /> P <br /> 1. <br /> In addition, one of the composite soil samples was analyzed <br /> for volatile halocarbons, total recoverable petroleum hydrocarbons, <br /> I <br /> reactivity, flammability, pH, and CAM-Metals (STLC) .
