1 <br /> r <br /> 6ETTLER - RYAN INC. <br /> December 6, 1994 <br /> Project 1002 01-01 <br /> Mary Meays <br /> { off <br /> Senior R E H S <br /> Public Health Services <br /> San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> 445 N San Joaquin Street <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> Subject Groundwater Analytical Results <br /> and Closure Documentation <br /> 4110 Industrial Way <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Dear Ms Meays <br /> This report presents the analytical results for the groundwater monitoring conducted during the <br /> fourth quarter at the McKesson Drug Company distribution facility at 4110 Industrial Way, <br /> Tracy, California (Figures 1 & 2) These results supplement the results of previous monitoring <br /> performed dui mg the last quarter of 1993 and the first and second quarters of this year The <br /> results of this earlier work, a discussion of the site's history, and a closure documentation section, <br /> in anticipation of petitioning the local enforcement agency for site closure, are also presented <br /> below <br /> Site History - In June 1992, a 10,000-gallon underground diesel storage tank was excavated and <br /> removed from the site Chemical testing of soil samples collected from the bottom of the <br /> excavation and from stockpiled soil on June 9, 1992, indicated the presence of total hydrocarbons <br /> as diesel and related constituents benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTXE) <br /> Groundwater was encountered during the tank removal activities and a sample was collected for <br /> analyses Analytical results indicated that the groundwater contained diesel but no BTXE <br /> constituents Subsequently, a total of approximately 160 tons of stockpiled soil and <br /> approximately 1,500 gallons of contaminated groundwater were removed from the excavation and <br /> disposed of off-site On June 15, 1992, additional soil samples and a groundwater sample were <br /> collected from the bottom of the excavation No petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel nor any <br /> related constituents were detected in analytical testing of the soil samples and only a trace of <br /> diesel (0 21 milligrams per liter) was detected in the groundwater sample The excavation was <br /> backfilled with pea gravel and asphaltic concrete was placed over the disturbed area <br /> 6747 Serra Court , Suite J Dublin , California 94568 ( 510 ) 551 - 7555 <br />
