P - r, P United States Postal Service Delta Carrier Annex 3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS During this investigation, 8 exploratory borings were advanced across the site to evaluate the general soil quality. Laboratory analysis of soil samples collected from the exploratory borings did not detect purgeable or extractable petroleum lJ hydrocarbons, BTEX compounds, or VOCs above the laboratory detection limits, �J with the exception of diesel range compounds. The diesel range compounds were only detected in 1 of the 19 samples analyzed at a concentration of 1.3 ppm. The low level of diesel range compounds detected may be due to naturally occurring - organic materials. The concentrations present do not appear to pose a significant threat to human health or the environment. No further work appears required. 3.1 Regulatory Agency Submittal We recommend that a copy of this report be sent to the San Joaquin County Public C Health Services - Environmental Health Division for their review. Chemical analyses were performed for specific parameters during this investigation, as detailed in the scope of services. Please note that additional constituents not analyzed for during this evaluation may be present in soil and ground water at the site. Our sampling and analytical plan was designed using accepted environmental principles and our judgment for the performance of a soil quality evaluation and was based on the degree of investigation approved by you. It is possible to obtain a greater degree of certainty, if desired, by implementing a more rigorous soil and ground water sampling program.
