r, •
14 November 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 07-1537
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline(TPH-g)were reported in ground water
samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-5, MW-7, MW-8, and MW-11 at
concentrations ranging between 45,000 micrograms per liter (µg/l; MW-3) and 100 4g/l
(MW-8).
• Benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene and total xylenes (BTEX) compounds were reported in
wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-11 at maximum concentrations of 610 µg/l benzene
(MW-3),3,100 µg/l toluene(MW-3), 1,000 gg/1 ethylbenzene(MW-3)and 2,860 gg/1 total
xylenes (MW-3).
• Methyl-tert-buty-ether(MTBE)was reported in wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-3,MW-5 through
MW-8, and MW-10 at concentrations ranging between 10 µg/1 (MW-6) and 16,000 µg/1
(MW-3).
• The fuel additive 1,2-DCA was reported in wells MW-3 and MW-5 at concentrations of
18 gg/1 and 31 µg/1, respectively.
• Tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) was reported in well MW-3 at a concentration of 11
µg/l. Di-isopropyl ether (DIPE)was reported in well MW-2 at a concentration of 2.9 gg/1.
Analytical results of water samples collected in April 2008 are summarized in Table 2. The
laboratory report(CTEL Lab Project.No.CT214-0804271),quality assurance/quality control report,
and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix E. Electronic deliverable format (EDF) files
and depth to water data were uploaded to the State GeoTracker database (confirmation numbers
are4446364462 and 6194701254).
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes:
• Petroleum hydrocarbon impact to ground water is not laterally defined east of well MW-5
or vertically defined at the former UST area on site.
• Petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 decreased
between the first and second quarter 2008.
• Petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in monitoring wells MW-3,MW-4,MW-5 and MW-6
either increased or remained relatively consistent between the first and second quarter 2008.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
