1 ,
' Additional Assessment Report
RALPH SQUARE-BUI
' 2122 South Airport Way, Stockton, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. Peter Minh Bui,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE)has prepared the
' enclosed Additional Site Assessment Report for the property located at 2122 South Airport Way,
Stockton,California(site). The scope of work included the advancement of one cone penetrometer
testing (CPT) soil boring with associated discreet borings, installation of three additional on-site
' ground water monitoring wells, and preparation of this report.The work was performed as directed
by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) by the letters dated 03 July
' 2006 and 02 March 2007 and is in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank(UST)sites.The site
and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1. Structure, boring and well locations are
illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is summarized in Appendix A.
2.0. PROCEDURES
Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the CVRWQCB for the
' investigation of UST sites. Monitoring well installation and CPT soil boring advancement
procedures were outlined in the AGE-prepared Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan, dated 15
March 2007, and approved by EHD in a letter dated 23 March 2007.
2.1. CPT LITHOLOGIC INVESTIGATION
On 29 May 2007, six soil borings were advanced at location CPT-1 for coneenetrometer testing;
g;
the CPT location is located approximately 12 feet north of site monitoring well MW-3 (Figure 2).
' Lithologic data was collected from an initial CPT boring utilizing a piezocone (cone penetrometer
with pore pressure measurement)tip; five adjacent borings were then advanced to collect discreet
' soil and grab ground water samples from selected depths.
2.1.1. Advancement of CPT Borings
The CPT investigation utilized a 25-ton,truck-mounted CPT drill rig equipped with 2-inch diameter
hollow-stem rods.A hydraulic ram was utilized to advance a piezocone attached to the hollow-stem
rod assembly to a total depth of 105 feet bsg; a piezocone illustration is provided in Appendix C.
The soil parameters of piezocone tip resistance, sleeve friction, and pore water pressure were
continuously measured as the piezocone was advanced to depth. Utilizing the soil parameters, a
computer program interpreted general lithology types based on the CPT Soil Behavior Classification
' Advanced GeoEvironmental,Inc.
