A Way Up of San Joaquin County
Summary of Program
Our program is a one year program that is designed to help the homeless and less
fortunate get out of their situation. We do this by offering them a home environment full
of love and acceptance with the understanding that they must change their old ways and
create new good habits. Our program has strict rules and schedules they must follow.A
few examples of the rules are as follows:
i. Zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol
2. Zero tolerance for foul language
3. Zero tolerance for violence of any kind
4. Rise every day at 7 am
5. Good hygiene - shower and clean clothes daily
6. Treat everyone with respect
In addition to rules we create good life skills by having mandatory things they must do.
1. Bible Study every morning
2. Daily Chores
3. Bible Book Work - 10 pages a week
Outside the Home- Mandatory Functions
1. Church on Sunday
2. Serve Free Dinner to homeless on Monday
3. Prayer Service on Tuesdays
4. Celebrate Recovery on Friday Nights
5. Church on Saturday Night
6. Other volunteer Community Service Work
Our mission is to help them become self sufficient members of society within that one
year period. We assist them in obtaining the following for good health and self
sufficiency:
1. ID's or Drivers License
2. Court,Tickets and Probation
3. Social Security Card
4. Medical Treatment
5. Dental Services
6. Employment
7. Transportation
8. Counseling and any other necessary
mental or medical treatment is provided off site by professionals. We provide
transportation to these type appointments.
We also take them bowling, to the movies and other activities to show them you can have
fun being clean and sober.
