ZE Auto Repair <br /> Stockton California October 7,2003 <br /> Results of Additional Slte Invests ation <br /> L well boring MW-1 were analyzed for carbon content (total and fractional carbon content by <br /> • Walkley-Black method) Results of the soil dry bulk density, permeability, porosity, <br /> moisture, and carbon content analyses are summarized in Table 2 The results of the <br /> physical characteristic testing may be utilized during a later phase of work <br /> On July 31, 2003 Horizon developed and sampled monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 <br /> Monitoring well field data sheets are contained in Appendix E The depth to groundwater <br /> measured during well sampling was approximately 46 feet bsg Depth-to-groundwater <br /> measurements are summarized in Table 3 Water generated from development and purge <br /> operations was placed in labeled 55-gallon Department of Transportation (DOT) approved <br /> drums for temporary on-site storage <br /> The monitoring well groundwater samples were submitted, under chain-of-custody <br /> documentation, to Kiff and analyzed for TPHd by EPA Method M8015, and TPHg, BTEX, <br /> the seven fuel oxygenates MTBE, diisopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl-t-butyl ether (ETBE), tert- <br /> amyl-methyl ether (TAME) tert butanol (TBA), methanol, ethanol, and the lead scavenger <br /> compounds 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA) and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB) by EPA Method <br /> 8260B The monitoring well MW-1 groundwater sample was also analyzed for the full scan <br /> of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260B Groundwater analytical <br /> results for TPHd, TPHg BTEX, the seven fuel oxygenates and the lead scavengers are <br /> summarized in Table 3 Results of the full VOC scan indicated 260 micrograms per liter <br /> (parts per billion or ppb) n-propylbenzene, 560 ppb 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, 2200 ppb 1,2,4- <br /> trimethylbenzene and 710 ppb naphthalene Groundwater analytical reports and chain-of- <br /> custody documents are contained in Appendix D <br /> On August 15, 2003 the location and elevation of the monitoring well casings were surveyed <br /> by Virgil Chavez Land Surveying Copies of the survey report and map are contained in <br /> Appendix F <br /> 1792 rp t 10-03 <br /> Project No 1792 12 5 HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC <br />
