SITE LOCATED AT 2400 AIRPORT WAY STOCKTON REQQ
EST -FOR EXTENSION OF DEADLINE
=
FOR-SUBMITTAL-OF, GROUND WATER IINVESTIGAT=ION--WORE-P.LAN,.f
i In our letter, dated 8 November 1989, we requested that by 8 December 1989 you
submit a work plan for investigating the extent of ground water contamination
beneath your site. In a letter dated 7 December -1989,,, your consultant,
Versar, Inc. , requested a 90 day extension to the, dead.line for submittal of
the requested work plan. The extension is being requested to allow time for
. completion of construction at the site.
Ir
,i
Because submittal of the work plan is not dependent on completion of
construction, we do net agree that a 90 day extension ;is necessary or
warranted. Once the configuration of the planne& seriice station -has been
determined, it will be possible to develop a workplan` for the ground water
investigation. After construction is completed„the ground water
investigation can proceed with any necessary modi_'ficat`ions.
Petroleum hydrocarbons have also been detected in' soil; at your site. To avoid
possibile destruction or damage to planned surface structures, the extent of
soil contamination should be determined and a soi-] remediation plan developed
prior to site construction. Therefore, we -request that you submit a soil
remediation proposal with the ground water investigation work plan.
_ The
ground water investigation work plan should also ,include a cope of your-site
construction plan showing the proposed locations ;,'for the ground viater
-- —,,monito.6na_welIs. .,...
!
