E
Letter to Ms. Letitia Resch
February 7, 1989
f.. Page 3
Versar will also use a Xitech hammer/vadose ;"zoneP robe to conduct a
soil vapor survey at approximately 12 locations ';throughout the site in
order to helpdetermine if an volatile y a ale or anic ''com compounds are resent.
9 P p
The soil vapor probe will be inserted into the subsurface to a depth of
approximately 1Y 15 feet at each location. Soil va ors wi17
be withdrawn '7
and analyzed with the OVA meter at depths of 11 feet and 15 feet below
surface level .
At this time, we would like to reiterate that there is no known or
suspected soil contamination at the subject site; however, we are
submitting this information as required for sotiil contamination
investigation work plan (Option 2);, as per Versar's telephone
conversation with you on January 30, 1989. Attachment III is the
Environmental Health Permit/Services Application, which is the only
permit application Versar received in the packet, you sent. We are
enclosing a check for $35.00, as required in No:' 3 of your general
instructions. There are no wells located withiri 1,000 feet of the site.
The drilling services will be performed by Spectrum Drilling of
Stockton, California (License No. C57-177681) .
Because there is no known or suspected contamination at the site
(i .e. , this is not a leaking underground storage' tank site) , and because
the development of the site is delayed until the results of the PTA
sampling are available, we would appreciate your timely response to this
work plan. Versar is planning to drill the three boreholes
on February
22, 1989.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please' do not
hesitate to call me at (916) 962-1612. -
Very
62-1612. .Very truly yours,
{
larence 'Johnson
Senior Geohydrologist
R.P.G.
