APPENDIX yr
Groundwater Sampling Procedure
Groundwater samples were obtained from the monitoring wells according to the following
procedure.
1. Prior to sampling, the hydrostatic groundwater Ievel in each monitoring well was measured and
recorded.
2. MW-1, a 4 inch diameter well, had three to five well volumes of water removed from it until
both the temperature and pH of the water in the well had stabilized. The other monitoring wells
(all 2 inch wells) were purged until nearly depleted of groundwater.
3. The wells which were nearly depleted of groundwater were then allowed to recharge to 859-
40% of their original volumes.
r
4. Groundwater samples were then carefully extracted utilizing a clean teflort bailer, zvoiding any
abrupt motions which could agitate•the sample and possibly result in loss of volatile compounds.
,
The teflon bailer was cleaned between each well using a tri-sodium phosphate solution and a
double rinse process.
5. The samples were stored in preserved container, and transported on ice to a State cP California
certified analytical laboratory. :
Mf
6w
ANOEI
CGNSULTlNG
GROUP
