Tile No 2070 2 22 June 1993 Page 2 r ' Following completion of the well purging, the wells were allowed to recharge prior to sampling Upon adequate recharge, each of the wells was sampled via a %terife, discrete, disposable bailer The groundwater samples were placed in sterile containers, stared on ice and transported to Eureka Laboratories, Inc,, d State of California certified analytical laboratory Laboratory analyses were conducted for the following parameters: ' . total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, diesel fuel and motor oil (method 8015 modified), aromatic volatile organics (EPA method 602), total lead (EPA method 6010) ' 4 0 Field Data and Site Determinations The local flow direction and gradient of the groundwater for the first quarter 1993 was calculated ' based on the static groundwater elevations measured in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-6 and MW-8 The local flow direction of the groundwater for the first quarter 1993 was determined to be toward the east/northeast with a gradient of 0 0038 it/it This flow direction and gradient is consistent with those determined during prior sampling` While obtaining the groundwater samples, particular attention was paid to whether any noticeable petroleum hydrocarbon odor, discoloration or floating product was evident in the wells The following was noted during our sampling ' • The groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW-1 had a strong petroleum hydrocarbon odor The water was slightly discolored gray No floating product was noted ' • The groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW-6 had no noticeable odor, discoloration or floating product ' . The groundwater Sample collected from monitoring well MW-8 had no noticeable odor, discoloration or floating product S 0 Groundwater Sample Results Three groundwater samples were submitted to Eureka Laboratories, Inc , a State of California certified analytical laboratory, for analysis for constituent-, noted in Section 3 0 Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the sample collected from groundwater monitoring well MW-1 No ' petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the samples collected from monitoring wells MW-6 and MW-8 ANDERSON CONSULTING GROUP
