1 <br />' November 25, 1998 <br /> • Project 125997 <br />' Mr Ron Rowe <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br />' Environmental Health Division-Site Mitigation Unit <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> P O Box 388 <br />' Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br />' Dear Mr Rowe <br /> Subject: Groundwater Monitoring Report <br />' October 28, 1998 - The Earthgrams Company <br /> 2651 South Airport Way, Stockton, California <br />' On behalf of The Earthgrains Company (Earthgrains), Philip Services Corporation <br /> (Philip), is submitting this Groundwater Monitoring Report for the subject <br /> facility Philip sampled Earthgrain's groundwater monitoring wells for this event <br /> on October 28, 1998, and submitted those samples to a California-certified <br />' laboratory for analysis A summary of historic underground storage tank (UST) <br /> activities, sample analytical results, and site observations are contained herein <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The facility is a bakery product plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California(see Figure 1, Site Location Map) The plant is situated <br /> within Sections 22 and 23, Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo <br />' Base and Meridian The site has a general elevation of approximately 17 feet <br /> relative to mean sea level (MSL) <br /> The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, which <br />' is relatively flat lying, and is almost entirely covered with asphalt and concrete <br /> The main facility building covers about two acres An approximately 1,000-foot- <br /> long stormwater drainage ditch extends westerly along the south side of the <br />' facility to an intermittent, south-flowing drainage canal This canal empties into <br /> the intermittent Duck Creek, which is located about 900 feet south of the plant <br /> The facility previously had four petroleum hydrocarbon USTs, as shown in <br />' Figure 2 A former 10,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank and two 6,000-gallon gasoline <br /> tanks were located near the southwest corner of the main building A 20,000- <br /> gallon diesel-fuel tank was located on the east side of the facility <br />' The gasoline tanks near the southwest building corner were removed in April <br /> 1987 The western-most gasoline tank failed a tank integrity test, which was <br />' performed in December 1986 The eastern-most gasoline tank had previously <br /> been abandoned in place, prior to 1986, by removing the fuel and filling the tank <br /> . with sand The two diesel-fuel USTs were removed in September 1989 <br /> 1 <br />
