' Mr Ron Rowe <br /> • 11/25/98 <br /> 1 <br /> Approximately 450 cubic yards of soil was excavated during the removal of the <br />' two USTs in 1987, of which, approximately 120 cubic yards were noted to be <br /> impacted with gasoline The soil was allowed to aerate and be disposed of onsite <br /> with guidance from the San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District <br />' In July and September 1987, Environmental Science and Engineering, Inc <br /> installed three groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) In January <br /> 1988, Anderson Consulting Group (ACG) installed wells MW-4 and MW-5 <br /> 1 ACG later installed wells MW-6 and MW-7 in February 1990, and MW-8 in <br /> September 1990 Philip (formerly Burlington Environmental) installed wells <br /> MW-9 through MW-13 in March 1994 <br />' Philip submitted a Remediation System Pilot Test Workplan, dated July 1, 1994, <br /> to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division(SJCEHD) describing <br /> proposed groundwater cleanup technologies These technologies included <br /> 1 groundwater sparging combined with soil venting Several sparge and vent wells <br /> were installed to implement this remediation However, active cleanup was <br /> postponed due to petroleum hydrocarbon concentration reductions that have been <br /> naturally occurring at the site <br /> 1 <br /> MONITORING ACTIVITIES <br /> Philip performed this quarterly groundwater monitoring event on October 28, <br /> 1998 Depth to groundwater and the presence or absence of phase separated <br />' hydrocarbons (PSH) were evaluated in each monitoring well PSH was not <br /> observed in any of the monitoring wells <br />' Groundwater samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, <br /> MW-4, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8, MW-10, MW-11, MW-12, and MW-13 <br /> Groundwater sampling procedures are described in Appendix A Water sample <br /> field data sheets are presented in Appendix B <br />' Groundwater samples were submitted under proper chain of custody control to <br /> Acculabs Inc (formerly West Laboratories) of Davis, California Samples <br /> collected from wells MW-1, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8, MW-12, and MW-13 were <br /> analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons-gasoline (TPH-G), and oxygenate compounds <br /> methyl-t-butyl ether (MTBE),tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether <br />' (DIPE), ethel tertiary butyl ether(ETBE), and tertiary amyl methyl ether <br /> (TAME) Samples collected from wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-10, and MW-11 <br /> were analyzed solely for BTEX and TPH-G <br /> QUARTERLY MONITORING RESULTS <br /> 1 Groundwater elevation data, recent petroleum hydrocarbon analytical data, and <br /> �} historic analytical data are contained in the following sections <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
