This work was conducted according to the Corrective Action Work Plan (dated
November 3, 1992) approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD). The
soil containing petroleum fuel hydrocarbons in the vicinity of the former fuel tank has been excavated
and is currently stockpiled on site. This report presents a brief description-of sampling methods and
analytical results. Groundwater Technology requests the SJCEHD concurrence that the goals of the
f Corrective Action Work Plan have been met and that the excavation can be backfilled.
` SOIL EXCAVATION
On December 28, 1992, and January 5, 1993, the former UST excavation was further excavated to
remove soli containing residual concentrations of petroleum fuel hydrocarbons. Excavation work was
performed by ALLPRO Environmental (Martinez, California). The north, south, and east sides of the
former excavation were extended approximately three feet. The bottom of the excavation was extended
approximately two additional feet. Because higher concentrations of residual hydrocarbons were
detected at the western portion of the excavation, the west side was extended approximately 10 feet. A
total of approximately 150 cubic yards of soil was excavated during the extension of the former UST
excavation.
The additional excavated soil was placed in a stockpile on site. All stockpiled soil was, placed on and
covered with polyethylene plastic sheeting. The stockpiled soil was sampled and analyzed to evaluate
treatment and disposal alternatives.
LR2258M.OK
Offices throughout the U.S.,Canada and Overseas
