The
site is one of several sites being considered for future expansion of UPRR's Intermodal Facility,
located north of the site (Figure 1). The following sections present the site background and
CRA's proposed scope of work.
SITE BACKGROUND
Site Description and Location
The site is located in a mixed agricultural-industrial,unincorporated area west of the City of
Manteca in San Joaquin County,California (Figure 1). General topographic gradient at the site
and surrounding area is to the southwest. The site consists of an approximate 4.7 acre
irregularly-shaped parcel developed with five abandoned wastewater evaporation ponds. No
buildings or structures are located on the site. The site supports five wastewater ponds
associated with the former DeGroot&Sons property (currently the Cal Suprema Cheese
facility). The ponds were active from the mid 1990s to approximately 2002. The ponds are
currently abandoned and are overgrown with vegetation. The site is accessed via the Cal
Suprema Cheese facility to the east. The site is bordered by the UPRR Intermodal Terminal and
agricultural land to the north,by the South San Joaquin Irrigation District(SSJID) Canal#3 to
the south,by the Cal Suprema Cheese facility to the east, and the SSJID French Camp Outlet
Canal to west(Figure 2).
Eat
Employment
Opportunity Employer
Worldwide Engineering,Environmental,Construction,and IT Services
