-- - ,
t -
k
and garage etc . are located. This is almost exactly where
the Spring 1990 County maps .predicted, as was shown on the
work plan.
Cores were taken and analyzed to cui' rent Tri-Regional
standards in all three wells . In the two down-gradient wells
away from the tank site (MW # ' s 1 &' 3) , the samples were
either just above or just below the water table top. In MW #
2, located near the former tank site, cores were taken at
the surface and at 5 ' intervals until the water table was
penetrated. No contamination at test detection limits was
found. The samples were tested for BTEX and TPH(G) .
' All three monitor wells were bailed and;' sampled twice, about
one month apart. The on-site water,. well . also was sampled
and tested. No contamination at test detection limits was
found. The samples were tested for BTEX' and TPH(G) . No
hydrocarbon odor or taste was observed in any of the tests
The wells were bailed a total of three times when including
the bailing done for developing thelwells immediately after
drilling. A total of 90 plus gallons of' water was bailed
from each of the wells when the three bailings are summed.
I
CONCLUSIONS
i
The monitor wells are located in optimum positions for
detecting hydrocarbons in either the ground water or in the
vadose zone . !
No detectable hydrocarbon contamination was found in any of r
the three series of tests noted above on Charts A, B and C,
all of which were to Tri-Regional sitandards .
With the ground water at its current shallow depth, any y
earlier and deeper vadose zone contamination that might have
occurred should have been reflected: in the ground water
samples . '
Water from the on-site water well was sampled when the tank
was removed and during the series If tests . No contamination I
was ever found.
i,
i
13 1
