These procedures will also be used to document the handling and shipping procedures <br /> of the sample(s). :Specificaily,the Chain-of-Custody procedures will trace the sample(s) from <br /> collection,through all custody transfers, and finally to the storage facility or the analytical <br /> laboratory, where the laboratory's internal procedures will govern until final disposition of the <br /> samples. This infirmation will be recorded on the Chain-of-Custody form which will remain <br /> with the samples t,t all times. Proper taping, locking, and sealing procedures shall be used to <br /> prevent or detect tampering of the samples. The Chain-of-Custody form(s)will be used for a <br /> packaged lot of samples(i.e.,more than one sample will most likely be recorded on a single <br /> form). If all of the samples in a given lot cannot be recorded on a single Chain-of-Custody form, <br /> I an additional form(s)will be used <br /> i <br /> 8.0 WASTE DISPOSAL PLAN <br /> This section provides guidelines for handling materials generated during the field activities <br /> associated with this investigation. <br /> All soils brought to the surface will be placed on, and covered with, 6-mil plastic sheeting. The <br /> soil piles within the plastic sheeting will be labeled with the soil boring I.D. number(s), date, and <br /> nature of the contents, All soil will remain on-site and remediated as part of the R&D project. <br /> The water collectO during steam cleaning operations, as well as the water removed from the <br /> temporary wells during well purging and groundwater grab sampling procedures,will be stored <br /> on-site in sealed DOT-approved 55-galicn drums. The drums will be labeled with the <br /> monitoring well I.D. number(s),date, and nature of the contents. All drummed liquids will be <br /> sampled and prop.trly disposed of based on the analytical results. <br /> California Unifonn Hazardous Waste manifests will be completed by PG&E as required for the <br /> transportation. and disposal of any hazardous waste that may be generated during the <br /> investigation.
