Restricted <br /> activities inside the exelusiod zone may be allowed depending on the results of field measurements taken <br /> during the course of the activities. Access within this zone will be limited to required personnel. !rating <br /> and smoking will not be alto-Ned in the exclusion zone. Current enforceable and recommended exposure <br /> limits for potential site contaminants are presented in Table 13-1. <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTI X EQUIPMENT <br /> A minimum of U5 EPA Levei D protection will be required within the exclusion zone for any workers <br /> engaged in sample collection or other similar activities. Level D protection will include: <br /> L <br /> 1. Hardhat. <br /> i <br /> 2. Boots with steel toe'. <br /> 3. Chemical resistant disposable gloves(when handling materials with elevated levels of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons). <br /> 4. Disposable Tyvek* coverall (when in direct contact with materials containing elevated levels of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons). <br /> s <br /> Level C protection will be required if PID readings repeatedly exceed 20 PPM in the worker's breathing <br /> zone, Level C protection will consist of- <br /> 1. <br /> f1. Hardhat <br /> 2. Boots with steel too. <br /> 3. Disposable Tyvek4'coverall. <br /> 4. Safety glasses, splash goggles, or face shield. <br /> 5. Chemical resistant disposable gloves. <br /> 6. MSMAINIOSH-approved half-face or full-face air-purifying respirator with organic <br /> vapor cartridges. <br /> If the PID readings exceed 108 PPM in the workers breathing zone, all work shall stop and the exclusion <br /> zone shall be evacuated. <br /> 402311-9863 13-2 <br />
