FLUID <br />CONTAINMENT <br />Fiberglass Underground Storage Tanks <br />Installation Instructions For All Single -Wall and <br />Double -Wall Type H Tanks and Related Accessories <br />Introduction <br />The purpose of this manual is to provide specifiers, owners, <br />contractors and their employees with detailed instructions for <br />installing Single -Wall and Double -Wall Fiberglass Under- <br />ground Storage Tanks and related accessories. <br />Note: Tank installation is a very specialized business. If <br />you do not have the proper experience, please contact a <br />contractor who does, or call Fluid Containment Inc. for a <br />list of experienced contractors. <br />The material presented has been developed and refined in <br />the installation of over 200,000 tanks. <br />WHY IS THIS INFORMATION IMPORTANT? <br />Proper installation of each tank is essential: <br />• To ensure the safety of all the individuals involved in the <br />tank installation. <br />• To prevent tank damage and/or failure, which could lead <br />to product loss and environmental contamination. <br />• To validate the tank structural warranty for underground <br />petroleum storage. <br />Tank Installation - Warning <br />AWARNING <br />• Do not enter the tank excavation unless necessary and in <br />compliance with OSHA regulations!- Follow OSHA <br />guidelines for tank excavation. <br />• Collapsing excavation walls can cause injury or death! <br />What Topics Will Be Covered? Please consult them_ <br />• The presence of a Fluid Containment representative at <br />the jobsite does not relieve the contractor of responsibil- <br />ity to follow the published installation instructions. <br />To Activate The Tank's 30 -Year Structural <br />Warranty for Underground Petroleum Storage: <br />• These instructions must be followed. <br />• Installation checklist (Pub. No. 8894) must be properly <br />completed, signed by the installing contractor's repre- <br />sentative and the tank owner's representative. <br />• The installation checklist must be retained by the tank <br />owner and/or installing contractor to validate any future <br />warranty claim. <br />
