Box 6189 <br />Stockton, CA 95206 <br />r- <br />Tel: 209-982-0160 <br />Fax: 209-983-3375 <br />RE: HAZARDOUS WASTE INSPECTION - 11110/97 <br />Dear Mr. Kith: <br />The following addresses the alleged violations noted on November 10, 1997, and our <br />response to each: <br />HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATOR PROGRAM <br />Item 10 Failed to determine if a waste is a hazardous waste. <br />Response: The waste was identified as chromium contaminated sludge from our <br />conversion coating process. The 5 gallon pail was labeled Hazardous <br />Waste, Liquid, N. 0. S., (D007), 9, NA 3082, PG III. <br />Item 20 Failed to properly label containers of hazardous waste. <br />Response: All containers at satellite accumulation points have been labeled with dates <br />of accumulation. The container at the hazardous waste storage area has <br />been labeled. Filters from the spray booths are labeled. <br />Drums located at satellite accumulation areas are labeled with a satellite <br />accumulation label and a hazardous waste label. Accumulation dates will <br />be placed on the accumulation label. The new accumulation date will be <br />placed on the hazardous waste label when the drum is full or when it is <br />approaching 1 year, whichever comes first. <br />Item 4.5 Contingency plan incomplete. <br />Response-. The contingency has been completed. A copy is attached. <br />
