The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been
addressed for JUANS AUTO REPAIR as of August 10, 2015.
Open violations from June 15, 2015 inspection
Violation#605 -Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste.
Two red and one orange rolling containers of used oil were observed in the shop with no labels. According to both
Rick and Nadine Morga, these containers are emptied into the used oil tank approximately once a week. A 55 gallor
black steel drum labeled "used oil absorbent"was observed in the hazardous waste storage area with no hazardous
waste labeling. A 55 gallon black steel drum of spent absorbent was observed in the hazardous waste storage area
with a blank, faded hazardous waste label. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following
information:
-the words"Hazardous Waste"
- name and address of generator
- hazardous properties (ignitable, corrosive, reactive, toxic)
- physical state (liquid, solid)
-composition (contents)
-accumulation start date
Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information.
Violation #608 - Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters.
A used oil filter was observed on the ground in the used oil tank secondary containment. A 55 gallon black steel drui
of used oil filters &fuel filters was observed in the hazardous waste storage area with no accumulation start date.
According to disposal records, used oil filters are hauled away approximately once a year, and were last disposed of
on 2/25/15. Oil and fuel filters are being commingled in the waste drum without proper labeling.
