Contains or has the potential to contain a hazardous atmosphere (this applies to most
unventilated underground spaces)
2. Contains a material that has the potential for engulfment
3. Has an internal configuration such that an entrant could be trapped or asphyxiated by
inwardly converging walls or by a floor that slopes downward and tapers to a smaller
cross section.
4. Contains any other recognized serious safety or health hazard that may cause
incapacitation or impair rescue efforts.
3.0 Survey:
A confined space survey is to be conducted by a safety professional. The last survey at the Stockton
DC was conducted on March 3, 2014 by Cary Childers. The following were assessed: (A copy of this
confined space survey is included in Appendix A.) This survey must be completed every 3 years or
when conditions change or potential Confined Spaces are installed at this site.
