All facility communications or alarm systems, fire protection equipment, <br /> spill control equipment, and decontamination equipment, where required, shall be tested and maintained as necessary <br /> to assure its proper operation in time of emergency. Immediately begin this practice and submit proof of providence of <br /> spill control equipment to the EHD. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 607 CCR 66266.81(b) Damaged lead acid batteries not properly managed and labeled. <br /> One damaged spent lead acid battery was not stored in a container. A damaged battery shall be managed so as to <br /> minimize the release of acid and lead and to protect the handlers and the environment, including at a minimum: <br /> 1. stored and transported in a nonreactive, structurally secure, closed container capable of preventing the release <br /> of acid and lead; <br /> 2. a container holding one or more damaged batteries shall be labeled with the date that the first battery in the <br /> container was placed there, i.e., the initial date of accumulation; <br /> 3. all container labels shall be written in ink, paint or other weather-resistant material so that the date is legible and <br /> conspicuous <br /> 4. a container holding one or more damaged batteries shall be packed for transportation in a manner that prevents <br /> the container from tipping, spilling or breaking during the transporting. <br /> Immediately manage, store, and label all damaged lead-acid batteries in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 608 CCR 66266.130 Failed to properly manage used oil and fuel filters. <br /> At least 6 used oil filters were found not stored in a closed container. Used oil filters shall be drained of free-flowing <br /> oil, stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as"drained used oil filters,"and marked with an accumulation start <br /> date. Immediately place the used oil filters in a closed and labeled container per this section, and ensure that all used <br /> oil filters are managed in this way. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by April 23, 2015. <br /> Facility generates hazardous waste from the maintenance/repair operation for its own fleet of trucks. Current <br /> business moved into this facility and began operation around January 2015.
