the Sierra Nevada, respectively. Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be metamorphic and igneous in origin. Northern and southern portions of the Great Valley Province have been designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, respectively. The property and vicinity lie within the San Joaquin Valley Groundwater Basin, Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin (5-22.01). The Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin is defined by the areal extent of unconsolidated to semi-consolidated sedimentary deposits that are bounded by the Mokelumne River on the north and northwest; San Joaquin River on the west; Stanislaus River on the south; and consolidated bedrock on the east. The Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin is bounded on the south, southwest, and west by the Modesto, Delta-Mendota, and Tracy Subbasins, respectively and on the northwest and north by the Solano, South American, and Cosumnes Subbasins. The Solano and South American are subbasins of the Sacramento Valley Groundwater Basin. The Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin is drained by the San Joaquin River and several of its major tributaries namely, the Stanislaus, and Calaveras, and Mokelumne Rivers. The San Joaquin River flows northward into the Sacramento and San Joaquin Delta and discharges into the San Francisco Bay. Prevailing groundwater flow direction in Manteca generally ranges from north to northwest, but this may be greatly modified by local recharge and discharge patterns. Based on the map titled Lines of Equal Elevation of Groundwater Fall 2010, published by the San Joaquin Flood Control District and Water Conservation District (FCD&WCD), and on-going groundwater investigations in the area of the property (Regional Board's GeoTracker database), local groundwater flow is toward the north-northwest beneath the subject property. Based on the map entitled Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater Fall 2010, also published by the FCD&WCD, and on-going groundwater investigations in the area of the property, depth to water is estimated at between approximately 15 feet and 20 feet below surface grade (bsg). Groundwater is considered to be of beneficial use and is utilized for domestic, industrial and commercial purposes. There are no surface water features on the property. The nearest surface water feature in the vicinity of the property is the San Joaquin River, which is located approximately 5 miles west of the property. The Phase I/RFA and Closure Report indicates that the Site is not located within either a 100-year or a 500-year Flood Zone. This data, available in select counties across the country, was obtained by EDR from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) which has maps depicting FEMA-defined 100-year and 500-year flood zones. The Phase I/RFA and Closure Report indicates that the subject property is not located within the National Wetlands Inventory. This data, available in select counties across the country, was obtained from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The topography of the property is at an elevation of approximately 37 feet above mean sea level and in an area of low topographic relief. Regional slope of the area is toward the west-northwest.
