SWMU No. 1 - Manufacturing Area The manufacturing area was a warehouse which supported the mechanical infrastructure for metal pressing and anodizing for assembly of circuit boards. The flooring is concrete with an epoxy coat and a wastewater collection piping within a grated trenches used as a secondary containment system. The manufacturing area was used by Shinko between 1982 and 1990; and by OIT (1995 - 1998) and AIT (1998— 2003). Shinko closed their operations under the oversight of the City of Manteca in June 1991. OIT transferred lease ownership to AIT in October 1998. AIT ceased operations in 2003. This area is currently not used for the manufacturing of circuit boards, as of the site visit conducted by DTSC in October 2012. The most recent usage was to support stone cutting operations. SWMU No. 2 - Holding Tank and Sump Area The holding tank and sump area was the terminal end of the piping and grated trenches from SWMU No. 1, and captured waste water within a secondary containment system. SWMU No. 2 was located against the northern wall in the north central portion of the building (see Figure 2). The holding tank and sump area was used by Shinko between 1982 and 1990; and by OIT between 1995 and 1998, and by AIT between 1998 and 2003. Shinko closed their operations under the oversight of the City of Manteca in June 1991. OIT transferred lease ownership and operations to AIT in October 1998, and AIT ceased operations in 2003. This area is no longer used in the support of the manufacturing of circuit boards, as of the site visit conducted by DTSC in October 2012. This area was most recently used to support stone cutting operations. SWMU No. 3 -Waste (water) Treatment Area The Waste (water) Treatment Area was used for pH neutralization and lead removal from wastewater generated from OIT then AIT operations. The Waste (water) Treatment Area was located along the exterior of the northern wall of the facility and was covered by a steel framed canopy (see Figure 2). SWMU No. 3 consisted of a collection of three main treatment tanks (pH neutralization, solids settling, and a filter press). Two tanks of bulk chemicals (NaOH and H2SO4) and a de-ionizer to supply fresh water were also located within the treatment area. The floor of the treatment area included epoxy coated concrete and a secondary containment system. The Waste (water) Treatment Area was operated by OIT between 1995 and 1998 and then by AIT between 1998 and 2003. SWMU No. 3 has been inactive since operations ceased in 2003. SWMU No. 4 - Hazardous Waste Storage Pad The hazardous waste storage pad was used to facilitate the temporary storage of drums containing waste solids from the waste water treatment filtration process prior to off-site disposal. The hazardous waste storage pad was located northeast of SWMU No. 3 and east of SWMU No. 6, north of the northeastern corner of the facility (see Figure 2). The construction of the pad consisted of an epoxy coated concrete floor and shallow vaulted walls. The hazardous waste storage pad was operated by Shinko between 1982 and 1990. SWMU No. 4 has been inactive since closure of Shinko operations in 1991. SWMU No. 5 - Former Wastewater Treatment Unit Area The Wastewater Treatment Unit Area was used for pH neutralization and metals removal from wastewater generated from Shinko operations. SWMU No. 5 was located north of the facility, and north of SWMU No. 2 and west of adjoining SWMU No. 6 (see Figure 2). Statement of Basis for Former Advanced Interconnect Technologies, Inc.
