— ALLIED A ,, WASTE POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Shop Laborer EFFECTIVE DATE: April 2005 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor/Manager SUPERVISES:N/A FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt JOB CODE:D36 EEO-1 CATEGORY: 8 SALARY GRADE: POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the Maintenance department and Mechanics with general maintenance duties. REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: The following rosporebilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perforin. The actual duties required of this position will vary. • Performs general maintenance and shop duties including any or all of the following: o Assists trucks in and out of the working area in inclement weather. o Fuels vehicles and equipment. o Replaces and repairs tires. o Washes trucks. o Cleans track on track type equipment. o Performs general labor duties including yard work,painting and janitorial work. • Performs all duties in a safe and effective manner. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The following physical activities or abilities are commonly,but not always,associated with the performance of this position. The actual requirements of this position will vary. • Lift,carry and push/pull at least 75 pounds. • Climb into and out of trucks. EXPERIENCE,EDUCATION,CERTIFICATION: Required: • Valid driver license,if required for job duties. Preferred: . Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification. REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES,TOOLS,EQUIPMENT AND/OR SOFTWARE USED: The following machines,tools,equipment and/or software aro commonly,but not always,associated with the performance of this position. Actual machines,tools,equipment and/or software used will vary. • Personal protective equipment including,but not limited to,dust mask,ear plugs, gloves,hard hat, respirator,safety glasses,work boots and safety vest. • Hand tools including,but not limited to,hammer,pliers,screwdriver,and wrenches.
