The (Plan Manager Jesus Jimenez) will be responsible for making sure
the chemical inventory list is complete and up to date. The current inventory list
can be found in Appendix A.
The master MSDS file for all hazardous chemicals in the entire plant will
be in a three ring binder and be kept in the (Stockton Plant) office. Additional
MSDS binders will be kept in (Employees Breakroom J and Outsde of
Bathrooms) which will contain MSDS's used in that particular department.
MSDS's are available to all employees during each work shift. If an MSDS is not
available, employees should immediately contact their supervisor.
IV Employee Trainin_g and Information
The (P/ant Manger Jesus Jimenez) is responsible for the employee
training program. He/she will ensure that all elements in the Hazard
Communication Training Program are carried out. The elements of this program
are as follows;
1. Employees will be trained in methods and observations that may be used
to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical in the work
area. (i.e. continuous air monitoring devices, odor or visual appearance
of hazardous chemicals when being released, etc.).
_i 2. Employees will be trained on the physical and health hazards of the
chemicals in the work area.
3. Employees will be trained on the measures they can take to protect
themselves from hazards (i.e. appropriate work practices, emergency
procedures, use of personal protective equipment, etc.).
4. Employees will be trained on the details of the Hazard Communication
Program, including an explanation of the labeling system and material
safety data sheets (MSDS), and how to obtain and use the appropriate
hazard information.
Each new employee of (Stockton Plant) will be given training according to
the Hazard Communication Training Program outline. Employees transferred
from one department to another will receive similar training if they are going to
work with hazardous chemicals which are new to them.
Prior to introducing a new chemical hazard into any department of this
plant, each employee in that department will be given information and training
for the new chemical hazard.
The employee training program will consist of either a monthly safety
meeting or individual safety contact format. In either case, documentation as to
the date, type of training, and attendance will be completed and properly filed
for future reference.
4
