STOCKTONPLANT <br /> Personal Protective Equipment Program <br /> I Company Policy <br /> The following protective equipment program has been developed in accordance <br /> with Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.132, Personal Protective <br /> Equipment. <br /> The purpose of this policy is to provide employees with the proper education and <br /> personal protective equipment(PPE) necessary for protection wherever it is necessary by <br /> reason of hazards of processes, environment, chemical, or mechanical. The company will <br /> provide all necessary PPE to its employees. The Plant Manager will be responsible for <br /> providing PPE to their employees. <br /> H Hazard Assessment <br /> The Stockton Plant will assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, <br /> or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment <br /> (PPE). The Plant Manager will perform a written hazard assessment of the workplace <br /> J (see appendix 1 & 2). If hazards are present, or are likely to be present, the Plant <br /> Manager will perform the following: <br /> 1. Select, and have each affected employee use, the types of PPE <br /> That will protect the affected employee. <br /> 2. Communicate selection decisions to each affected employee. <br /> 3. Select PPE that properly fits each affected employee. <br /> All completed hazard assessment certifications will be included in section X of <br /> this written program. <br /> III Eye and Face Protection <br /> Safety glasses with side shields are required in the warehouse and outside areas <br /> of the facility. Employees are required to wear eye protection, and if necessary face <br /> protection, when exposed to hazards from flying particles, liquid chemicals, acids or <br /> caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. All <br /> protective eye and face devices will be American National Standards Institute Standard <br /> (ANSI) Z87.1 approved. If face shields are used, they will be worn over the basic eye <br /> protection. <br /> All eye and face protection will be appropriate for the particular hazard to which <br /> employees are exposed. Cleaning stations are located throughout the facility and are <br /> supplied with defogging materials. <br /> 3 <br />
