3 Training Frequency
3.1 New Employees
Health and Safety training for new employees includes hazardous material and waste training that
is completed within six months after start of employment. This initial training is completed
through computer-based training. In addition, new employees receive on-the-job training that
reviews proper management and handling of hazardous materials and wastes as it pertains to their
assigned responsibilities.
3.2 Annual Training
Refresher training is provided for the various training topics pertaining to hazardous material and
waste management on an annual basis. Annual refresher training required includes the topics as
discussed in Section 2.1. A training schedule for the various training topics to be completed is set
by the Corporate Health and Safety Department and distributed to the Pick-n-Pull facilities on a
monthly basis. An example of the training schedule is provided in Appendix 3.
3.3 DOT Training
DOT training is required to be completed every three years for employees that are involved with
the management of hazardous wastes. Employees that complete this training are provided a
certificate that is valid for three years. Training is provided electronically. A list of employees
that have completed the training and received a training certificate is maintained by the Corporate
EHS Department. Copies of training certificates are provided to the employee for their records.
Page 3-1
