OHIO 45268 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br />PERMIT/SERVICES <br />Dear Invitee: <br />The United States Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development <br />(U.S. EPA ORD) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) invite you to a Superfund Innovative <br />Technology Evaluation (SITE) demonstration. Peroxidation Systems, Inc., will demonstrate its <br />perox-pure" UV/oxidation technology at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Site <br />300 near Tracy, California. The purpose of the demonstration is to evaluate the performance of <br />Peroxidation Systems, Inc.'s technology in treating ground water contaminated with volatile organic <br />compounds (VOC). The VOCs at Site 300 include trichloroethene (TCE); tetrachloroethene (PCE), <br />1,1-dichloroethene (1,1-DCE), 1,2-dichlorothene (1,2-DCE), and 1,1,1 -trichloroethane (l,l,l-TCA). <br />A Visitors' Day for this SITE demonstration will be held on Wednesday, September 23, <br />1992, at Site 300. The Visitors' Day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with presentations about the SITE <br />demonstration, followed by an on-site viewing of the technology. The session will adjourn at <br />1:00 P.M. <br />For those unable to attend the daytime Visitors' Day, a second presentation will be offered the <br />same day at 6:30 p.m. at Site 300. This will consist of a presentation and technology viewing lasting <br />about 45 minutes. You must indicate on the registration form which session (10:00 or 6:30) you <br />plan to attend. <br />Those who plan to attend must till out and return (by mail or FAX) the attached pre- <br />registration form and Group Visitor Badging Data Form by Friday, September 11, 1992. Because <br />this is a DOE facility and is considered a restricted area, specific rules govern admittance of visitors. <br />A security clearance will be performed on all registrants. No one will be admitted to the Visitors' <br />Day without pre -registering and confirmation of clearance. LLNL reserves the right to deny anyone <br />(non -U.S. citizen or U.S. citizen) admittance to the site. <br />Enclosed is information about registration and badging, nearby hotel accommodations, and a <br />map of the Altamont Hills area with directions to Site 300 facility. <br />Please circulate this information in your office or community.
