PERMIt'/SERVICES <br />In October, 1992 the U.S. Depart- <br />ment of Energy (DOE) and the <br />University of California (UC) <br />began, dist ibution of the ilial <br />Environmental Impact Statement/ <br />Environmental Impact Report <br />(EIS/EIR) for the Continued Op- <br />eration of Lawrence Livermore <br />National Laboratory (LLNL) and <br />Sandia National Laboratories, <br />Livermore (SNL, Livermore). The <br />Final EIS/EIR, including the two <br />companion reports as described <br />below, went to everyone who re- <br />ceived the Draft, those who com- <br />mented on the Draft, and those <br />who requested a copy. <br />The Final EIS/EIR contains five <br />volumes: <br />• Volume 1: Text. <br />• 'v'uiutne 2:'Appendices A - E. <br />• Volume 3: AppendicesF-M. <br />• Volume 4: Comments and <br />Responses. <br />• Volume 5: Attachments pro- <br />vided by commentors. <br />The two companion reports to the <br />Final EIS/EIR are the: <br />• Executive Summary, and <br />N11 I�,aLl ivluriitortrig an' <br />Reporting Program document <br />(for LLNL only). <br />The Mitigation Monitoring and <br />Reporting Program document has <br />been developed as part of the Fi- <br />nal EIS/EIR by UC under require- <br />ments of the California Environ- <br />mental Quality Act for LLNL <br />only. This program is to monitor <br />and report the implementation <br />status of measures to mitigate the <br />significant impacts of the pro- <br />posed action. It identifies the <br />laboratory organization respon- <br />sible for implementing each of <br />the measures, determines when <br />mitigation monitoring will begin <br />and end, and identifies who will <br />verify that the mitigation meas- <br />ures are implemented as planned. <br />Individuals who received a copy <br />of the Draft do not need to keep it <br />in the EIS/EIR process. Everyone on the EIS/EIR project mailing <br />list will be included in the general LLNL mailing list unless you <br />request that your name be deleted by marking the post card enclosed <br />and returning it to EIS/EIR Project Office at LLNL. <br />Release of Final EIS/EIR Flyer <br />because the entire document has <br />been reprinted. All changes to the <br />text have been shaded so readers <br />will be able to cell where the Final <br />is different from the Draft.
