PERMIt'/SERVICES In October, 1992 the U.S. Depart- ment of Energy (DOE) and the University of California (UC) began, dist ibution of the ilial Environmental Impact Statement/ Environmental Impact Report (EIS/EIR) for the Continued Op- eration of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Sandia National Laboratories, Livermore (SNL, Livermore). The Final EIS/EIR, including the two companion reports as described below, went to everyone who re- ceived the Draft, those who com- mented on the Draft, and those who requested a copy. The Final EIS/EIR contains five volumes: • Volume 1: Text. • 'v'uiutne 2:'Appendices A - E. • Volume 3: AppendicesF-M. • Volume 4: Comments and Responses. • Volume 5: Attachments pro- vided by commentors. The two companion reports to the Final EIS/EIR are the: • Executive Summary, and N11 I�,aLl ivluriitortrig an' Reporting Program document (for LLNL only). The Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program document has been developed as part of the Fi- nal EIS/EIR by UC under require- ments of the California Environ- mental Quality Act for LLNL only. This program is to monitor and report the implementation status of measures to mitigate the significant impacts of the pro- posed action. It identifies the laboratory organization respon- sible for implementing each of the measures, determines when mitigation monitoring will begin and end, and identifies who will verify that the mitigation meas- ures are implemented as planned. Individuals who received a copy of the Draft do not need to keep it in the EIS/EIR process. Everyone on the EIS/EIR project mailing list will be included in the general LLNL mailing list unless you request that your name be deleted by marking the post card enclosed and returning it to EIS/EIR Project Office at LLNL. Release of Final EIS/EIR Flyer because the entire document has been reprinted. All changes to the text have been shaded so readers will be able to cell where the Final is different from the Draft. Be- cause Volumes Nand V, and the Mitigation Monitoring and Re- porting Program document are new volumes, they have no shaded text. Copies of the Final EIS/EIR Available For your convenience, copies of the Final EIS/EIR, including the Executive Summary and Mitiga- tion Monitoring and Reporting Program document, have been placed in the nine information depositories listed on the back of this flyer.
