Notice of Decision Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories <br />Page 2 July 30, 2007 <br />The 60 -day public comment period for this Class 2 permit modification package was <br />from December 13, 2006, through February 13, 2007, and a public meeting was held by <br />LLNL on January 16, 2007. The public notice was published in two local newspapers: <br />the Tri -Valley Herald and The Valley Times. It was mailed to approximately 2,300 <br />persons on the DTSC-supplied mailing list for the LLNL DWTF. Only one public person <br />attended the public meeting and no comments were received during the public <br />comment period. <br />DTSC has prepared a Notice of Exemption (NOE) to comply with the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for these permit modifications. The NOE was <br />prepared pursuant to California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15061(b)(3), which <br />exempts projects where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility of a <br />significant effect on the environment. <br />Availability of Documents: <br />Final documents pertaining to this decision, including the final modified Permit and a <br />"track changes" version, may be accessed on the Internet at http://www.dtsc.ca.gov and <br />are available for review by the public at the following locations: <br />LLNL Discovery Center <br />Greenville Road <br />Livermore, California 94551 <br />(925) 423-3272 <br />Effective Date: <br />Livermore Public Library <br />1188 South Livermore Avenue <br />Livermore, California 94550 <br />(925) 373-5500 <br />Since there were no public comments received during the public comment period, the <br />permit appeal process pursuant to California Code of Regulations, title 22, section <br />66271.18 is not applicable.
