The 500 gallon waste oil tank is labeled "motor oil". All hazardous waste tanks shall be marked with the words"Hazardous Waste' and the accumulation start date. Immediately ensure that all hazardous waste tanks are marked with the required information. Since it cannot be determined how long the waste has been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the Environ. Health Dept. (EHD) by October 27, 2010. 23. One unlabeled plastic can is used to store crushed, drained oil filters. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as"drained used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. Immediately add an accumulation start date and ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. Facilities that generate up to one ton of used oil filters per year may store the filters up to one year. Immediately recycle these filters under a bill of lading and submit a copy of the bill of lading to the EHD by October 27, 2010. 23. Bills of lading for the recycling of used oil filters for the last three years were not found on site. A copy of each bill of lading must be kept on site for at least three years. Immediately locate a copy of all bills of lading for used oil filters for the last three years, maintain them on site, and submit copies to the EHD by October 27, 2010. Repeat violation from 3-4-04. 23. Several oil filters were observed on top of the waste oil drum in the repair area. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as"drained used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. Immediately add an accumulation start date and ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. Notice to Comply 14. Spill control equipment not provided. The facility does not have spill control equipment, other than rags, on site to handle gasoline or oil spills. Immediately obtain spill control equipment for spills. 30. Four empty 55-gallon drums were observed near the diesel tank. Containers larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and managed within one year of being emptied.
