from Senator Johnston expressing his lack of jurisdiction in these
matters because I live in San Joaquin County, not Sacramento. (At
least he got my name right, or maybe lie hasn't met Mrs. Allen yet. Is
there such a thing as political groupies?)
Supervisor George Barber- numerous faxes, one phone call- In my
phone conversation with Supervisor Barber, he had the political
astuteness to call me a 'trouble maker'. (I took that to be a compliment,
but folks tell me I'm politically naive.)
Westrec Corporation- numerous faxes and letters requesting a
meeting with them and their legal representative concerning this matter
and others, beginning in December, 1995 -. No such meeting has
occurred as yet.
KOVR News- several faxes-Zip.
KCRA News- several taxes to Mike Leury-Ditto.
KXTV News- several taxes to Dana Howard-Zip- (How did these guys
find out I only watch Channel Six?)
California Department of Fish and Game.- Two faxes, one phone
call.- My phone call was transferred to someone named Dave. A
recording was nice enough to tell me Dave was away from his desk. I left
my name, phone number and a brief statement of my concerns. Dave
must still be away from his desk. (I hope he got back in time for the
Memorial Day weekend. If you work for Fish and Game, do you still have
to buy a fishing license? This has always intrigued me.)
California Toxic Substances Control- one fax-no response.
US Coast Guard, Marine Safety Detachment-Concord - one
fax-no response.
San Joaquin County Environmental A eg ncy_one fax-no
response. V
I saved the San Joaquin County Community Development
Department and Planning Commission for last. My attempts to obtain
information from these agencies is hard to describe, so I won't even try. It has
definitely had its high and low points.
The high point of my inquiries was provided by Mr. Jerry Hertzig, when he came
out and inspected the premises at Holiday Harbor last week. He was a gentleman in
every respect and expressed his love of the Delta in that being here reminded him of
