Road Master Rudy Sanchez Cl1T aD111T /l 1137DT.`1491W1II[�7►1 Foreman: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Supervise and carry out directives of management in the inspection, maintenance and repair of freight cars. Work with various computer applications for reporting mechanical defects and repair, mechanical timekeeping and material ordering. Ensure compliance with all Mechanical Department initiatives in regard to safety issues such as rule compliance, job briefings, stretching exercises and facility/equipment audits. QUALIFICATIONS: Extensive knowledge of company operations relative to mechanical department required to carry out the assigned duties, and responsibilities. Thorough knowledge of FRA and AAR Rules and Regulations and BNSF Policy and Procedures concerning rail car maintenance. Knowledge of TSS, METTS, Millennium and AR billing computer programs. Effective oral and written communications skills. Proficient in interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills that stimulate a positive work environment. Lead Carman: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees activities of Carman personnel. Inspect, build, and repair freight cars for compliance with AAR, FRA and BNSF Standards. Inspects car frames and car bodies for holes, cracks, and other defects. Inspects all safety appliances including hand holds, still steps, grab iron, brake platforms, running boards, etc. Inspect wheels to insure that rims, treads, plate, hub axle, and bearing are in good repair. Maintain, replace, and/or repair air brake pipes, valves, gaskets, air hoses, and other equipment as required. Inspects outlet gates on hopper cars and air dumps for defects and ensures they are properly secured. Operates electrical and gas welding equipment
