<br />Carman/Machinist:
<br />DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect, build, and repair freight cars for
<br />compliance with AAR, FRA and BNSF Standards. Inspects car frames and car
<br />bodies for holes, cracks, and other defects. Inspects all safety appliances
<br />including hand holds, still steps, grab iron, brake platforms, running boards, etc.
<br />Inspection wheels to insure that rims, treads, plate, hub axle, and bearing are in
<br />good repair. Maintain, replace, and/or repair air brake pipes, valves, gaskets, air
<br />hoses, and other equipment as required. Inspects outlet gates on hopper cars
<br />and air dumps for defects and ensures they are properly secured. Operates
<br />electrical and gas welding equipment to join a variety of metals and alloys;
<br />operates acetylene torches for cutting and/or shaping metal parts such as
<br />aluminum, cast iron, steel, bronze, etc. Operates specialized off-highway motor

<br />Road Master:
<br />DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, coordinate and supervise maintenance crews in the
<br />efficient, safe and economical performance of their duties to ensure track structure
<br />is maintained to meet BNSF and FRA standards. Work with local, county and state agencies
<br />on weed control, grade crossing and drainage problems to create good public relations.
<br />Coordinate track maintenance work with other departments to maximize work efforts and
<br />train operations. Perform inspection of track by riding trains, walking and hi -rail.
<br />Address technical training, safety training, follow up on safety issues, maintain
<br />contact with field personnel and help enhance overall quality and safety guidelines.
<br />Ensure compliance and application of company policies, i.e., BNSF's Equal Employment
<br />Policy, applicable safety rules, scheduled agreements, FRA standards and government
<br />regulations. Will be used as a utility supervisor as needed.
<br />QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in Maintenance of Way track standards.
<br />Good knowledge of rules and procedures. Should be familiar with
<br />applicable schedule agreements. Must be self-directed, motivated and
<br />have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must have a strong
<br />working knowledge of safe railroad operations and practices. Must
<br />have ability to communicate well, one on one and in groups. Must be
<br />safety conscious and able to support and contribute to a strong safety
<br />process.
