Thick oil staining was observed on and around the used oil tank. A container of spent absorbent <br /> was observed open, filled with liquid, and overflowing onto the soil behind the used oil and used <br /> antifreeze tanks. Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, <br /> explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health <br /> or the environment. Immediately clean up the contaminated soil and staining, and manage according to <br /> Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining <br /> how this waste was managed by April 4, 2011. <br /> 20. A 5 gallon bucket of used oil was observed in the shop under the filter press without a label. A <br /> container of spent absorbent was observed unlabeled behind the used oil and used antifreeze tanks. All <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information- <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, toxic, corrosive, reactive) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> The bucket was emptied into a labeled container at the time of inspection. Immediately label the <br /> remaining container and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. <br /> 23. One 55 gallon drum of used oil filters was observed without a label. Four 55 gallon drums of used oil <br /> filters were observed with no accumulation start date. Used oil filters must be stored in a closed, <br /> rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an accumulation start date. <br /> Immediately label and date these containers and ensure that all used oil filters are managed in this way. <br /> 27.
