General Process Flow
A Block Diagram for General Process Flow on the next page, Figure BD -1,
shows the general process now of product through the facility, with major
steps shown.
B. Specific Process Steps
A number of these specific processes have several individual process steps,
and these are shown in the succeeding Block Diagrams (BD -2 thru BD -17).
The hazardous wastes generated from each process, with estimates of annual
mass (or volume) are also shown in each Block Diagram. Where flow rates
for rinse water are given in g/m (gallons per minute), the assumed work
schedule for this study is as follows:
24 Hours per Day
Six Days per Week
Fifty (50) Weeks per Year
V. WASTE STREAM SOURCE IDENTIFICATION
A. Hazardous Waste Generation
Table 1 lists the hazardous waste streams generated that make up composite
waste streams to onsite treatment in the Waste Pretreatment System (WPS).
Table 2 lists additional waste streams which are routed separately to onsite
treatment in the WPS.
Table 3 shows additional separate waste streams which are shipped offsite
without treatment.
For further details, such as bath makeups, concentrations, specific change -
out schedules, etc., consult Reference #3.
B. Major Waste Streams
Tables 4-94 thru 4-97 show the estimates for the total hazardous waste
generated onsite in the years 1994 thru 1997, with 1994 being the baseline
year. Production quantities (in surface square feet) are also given for
normalization purposes.
