The PE was required in
compliance with the requirements of the Corrective Action Consent Agreement Docket
Number SRPD 03/04 SCC -4313 (Consent Agreement).
The PEA Report investigated fourteen Areas of Concern (AOCs) at the site for metals,
volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semi -volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), and
Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TRPH) in soil and groundwater. Soil gas
sampling was also conducted in order to determine VOC vapor intrusion into indoor air.
The investigation found that except for lead (315 mg/kg) metal concentrations in soil
were within background. An Interim Measure was conducted at the site by excavating
and disposing offsite approximately 28 cubic yards of contaminated soil. After
excavation, confirmatory soil sampling was conducted and the remaining lead
concentration in soil is 57 mg/kg which is below the residential California Human Health
Screening Levels (150 mg/kg). The low levels of VOCs, SVOCs and TRPH detected at
the site were all below the human health screening levels, and all metals in groundwater
were below the Maximum Contaminant Levels.
Based on the PEA Report, the estimated risk of the chemicals of potential of concern
in soil, soil gas and groundwater under the residential land use scenario using the
0 Printed on Recycled Paper
