Ladders and scissor lifts will be provided to access the ceiling and roof rafters
were the piping and ventilation ducts are fastened. Once removed, the piping and ventilation
ducts will be steam cleaned using a high-pressure steam washer. The rimate generated
during the steam cleaning process will be pumped into vacuum trucks for transportation and
disposal. Once the piping and ventilation ducts have been steam cleaned, the piping and
ventilation ducts will be placed into hazardous waste roll-off bins for transportation and
disposal. Ceiling piping and ventilation ducts that have been deemed non-hazardous through
steam cleaning activities will be placed into a 40-cubic yard bin for disposal at a Class III
disposal facility.
TASK 11.0 - BEAD BLASTING OF CONCRETE FLOORS
The concrete floors that are still stained with chemicals and contaminants after the
steam cleaning activities have been completed will be cleaned using a bead blasting method.
C.K.C.lAllwaste proposes to remove the visually stained concrete using a Blastrac machine.
Material removed is vacuumed up by the Blastrac and conveyed through a 50-foot hose into a
cyclone separator. Aust escaping the separator is conveyed into a dust collection system. All
material cleaned from the floor surface will be place into a hazardous waste stickered roll-off
bin for transportation and disposal.
TASK 12.0 - REMOVAL NON-HAZARDOUS MATERIAL AND DEBRIS
Non-hazardous material and debris such as paper, garbage, wood, etc. present
throughout the site and is not impacted by chemicals will be placed into 40-cubic yard bins
for disposal at a Class III disposal facility.
TASK 13.0 - DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS AND
CONTAMINANTS AND NON-HAZARDOUS MATERIAL AND
DEBRIS
Characterization and preliminary acceptance for disposal of the hazardous chemicals
and contaminants will have been completed during Task 5.0. Therefore, we anticipate that
the hazardous chemicals and contaminants will be transported for disposal or recycling at the
proper disposal facilities immediately following completion of the removal activities. All
non-hazardous material and debris will be disposed of at a Class III disposal facility.
