PURPOSE <br /> 1.1. This Waste Management Guideline sets the criteria for managing wastes which are <br /> regulated by the State of California Department of Toxic Substances Control(DTSC). <br /> 2. SCOPE <br /> 2.1. This procedure applies to the management of regulated waste at all C&S owned/operated <br /> facilities in California. <br /> 2.2. The DTSC has programs in place to assure proper management and control of waste <br /> materials. <br /> 3. RATIONALE <br /> 3.1. Waste Management Guidelines were developed to assist with compliance with the <br /> requirements of the following regulations: <br /> 3.1.1. California Code of Regulations(CCR), Division 4.5,Title 22. <br /> Adopted from: California Health and Safety Code(HSC),Division 20, <br /> Chapter 6.5, Hazardous Waste Control Law. <br /> 3.1.2. Code of Federal Regulations 40 CFR Parts 260-268,273 and 279, Resource <br /> Conservation Recovery Act(RCRA) <br /> 3.1.3. Code of Federal Regulations 49,Chapter 1, Subchapter C, Parts 100-185, <br /> Department of Transportation(DOT) <br /> 4. DEFINITIONS <br /> California Regulated Waste— Waste that is not classified as a Hazardous Waste under federal <br /> regulations, but are regulated as a hazardous waste in California IF the waste exhibits a California <br /> hazardous waste characteristic. <br /> 5.
