PROCEDURES <br /> 8.1. Waste Management <br /> 8.1.1. The general procedures for managing wastes presented in CEHS-0036 apply <br /> to the all C&S owned/operated trailer shops and warehouse facilities. <br /> 8.1.2. Additional requirements included in California's Hazardous Waste <br /> Management Regulations are presented in this guideline. <br /> 8.2. Container Selection <br /> 8.2.1. Refer to CEHS-0036, Section 8.1 <br /> 8.2.2. Universal Waste <br /> 8.2.2.1. Batteries and electronic equipment may be stacked inside a <br /> cardboard container or palletized and shrink wrapped to secure. <br /> 8.3. Container Labeling and Marking <br /> 8.3.1. Waste containers will be labeled before they are used to contain waste. <br /> Appropriate labels must be affixed to sides of containers in accordance with <br /> the C&S Waste Management Procedures and be clearly visible for <br /> inspection. <br /> 8.3.2. The initial date that hazardous waste is placed in the container must be <br /> clearly marked and visible on all containers used for"satellite" <br /> accumulation. <br /> 8.3.3. The total time that hazardous waste can be accumulated on-site is one <br /> year.An extension of up to 30 days may be granted by DTSC on a case-by- <br /> case basis. <br /> Note: There is no accumulation time limit for generators of not more than <br /> 100 kg(220 pounds)per month that are not using the satellite accumulation <br /> area and who have not yet accumulated 100 kg of hazardous waste (or one <br /> quart of extremely hazardous waste). <br /> 8.3.4. Labels will be used at California facilities for the following waste <br /> classifications: <br /> 8.3.4.1. Hazardous Waste <br /> 8.3.4.2. Used Oil <br /> 8.3.4.3.
