BoReTech)i <br />2.4.3 Proposition 65 Notification (California Only) <br />Proposition 65 (CH&SC 25249.5 et seq.) requires businesses to provide warnings <br />before knowingly and intentionally exposing any person to a Proposition 65 chemical. <br />The list of Proposition 65 chemicals contains over 400 chemicals (22 CCR Section <br />12000 - Chemicals Known to the State to Cause Cancer or Reproductive Toxicity). <br />Diesel and gasoline exhaust and carbon monoxide are among the listed Proposition 65 <br />chemicals that may be encountered at Boretech. <br />Notification to employees, subcontractors, and third parties of any Proposition 65 <br />chemicals present must be provided by means of warning signs, where appropriate and <br />necessary, near public, employee and service entrances as follows: <br />• Post in a conspicuous place and under conditions that make it likely to be <br />read and understood by employees and other individuals prior to the <br />exposure for which the warning is given <br />• Post signs in the lobby and warehouse to comply with this requirement <br />Boretech will require visiting construction contractors to determine if any products being <br />brought on site are included in the Proposition 65 list and, if so, to post the warning label <br />at entrances to work areas where the products are being used. <br />2.5 Employee Training and Notification <br />2.5.1 Hazardous Waste Training Requirements <br />All employees must be thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency <br />procedures relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and <br />emergencies. <br />As a minimum, employees must be trained according to the requirements presented in <br />the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program. <br />In addition, as part of Boretech's program to follow good management practices, the <br />following additional training is recommended: <br />• At least one Boretech employee from each shift attend a one -day hazardous <br />waste management class. Annual refresher training is not required, but <br />recommended <br />• If a person attends a special training course, it is recommended that that person <br />assists in providing on-the-job instruction and guidance as needed <br />• Employees who generate and/or handle hazardous waste should read and be <br />familiar with this Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Waste Standard Operating <br />Procedures Plan <br />2.5.2 Documentation of Training <br />• Copies of test results, waste analyses, or other hazardous waste determination <br />records must be kept for at least 3 years from the date the waste was last sent <br />for on-site or off-site treatment, storage, or disposal <br />Boretech Hazardous Materials & Hazardous Waste Management Operations Plan Page 119 <br />
